Library Cards

Free library cards are available to all residents and property owners in Ritzville Library District #2 along with all students in the Lind, Ritzville, and Washtucna school districts.  See our Circulation Policy for more information.

BECOME A MEMBER
Application forms are available at the front desk or you can download it here and return it to the library. You will need photo ID and verification of your current address such as: current Washington State ID, current Washington State driver's license or automobile registration, printed checks, or utility bill (dated within the past 30 days).

If you are under 18, you must obtain your parent’s or guardian’s signature.  The parent or guardian is the party ultimately responsible if a minor’s library material is lost, damaged or late.  Children must be at least 5 years old to become a library member.

A library card is required with each checkout of library material.  You must notify the Library of any changes in contact information, address, or other borrowers who may check out on your card.

NON-RESIDENT MEMBERS
Non-resident cards are available for a small annual fee.  See our Fee Schedule for current costs.

BENEFITS OF A LIBRARY MEMBERSHIP
In addition to being able to choose from our collection of books, DVDs, magazines and more, your membership also includes free download of eBooks and audiobooks from the Washington Anytime Library and access to research databases from home.

Don't have a card yet? You can still watch a DVD or read a magazine at the library, join us for a library program, use a library service, ask a librarian a question, or use our free wi-fi and computers -- all without needing a library card!

LOST CARD
If you lose your card, please call us immediately at 509-659-1222 to avoid any liability.  It is free to replace your first lost card.  There is a card replacement fee of $5 for each subsequently lost card.

RENEWING YOUR CARD
Library cards must be renewed annually and all outstanding fees must be paid in full at that time.  Contact the Library at 509-659-1222 to renew your card.

PIN
A PIN (Personal Identification Number) must be used with your library card number to make online requests for materials, check your library account information, download eBooks and audiobooks from the Washington Anytime Library, and access research databases from home.  You may choose your own PIN when you register for a library card or by editing your user profile here.
