Board of Trustees

The Library is governed by a board of five individuals appointed by the Adams County Commissioners. By law, the Board must approve the budget, expenditures, and policies for the Library.

Board meetings are usually held on the third Wednesday of every month at 5:30pm in the Library basement.  Dates and times of meetings are subject to change, however, so please contact the Library at 509-659-1222 to confirm details.

Meetings are open to the public and are held in accordance with Washington's Open Public Meetings Act (RCW 42.30).  Click here to view the Library's Policy for Public Comment at Board Meetings.

BECOMING A LIBRARY TRUSTEE
If you are interested in becoming a Library Trustee, please submit an application to the library director.  Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and kept on file until a position becomes available.

Board members are appointed to a 5-year term by the Adams County Commissioners with the possibility of being reappointed to a second consecutive term.

Board members can't work for the library or have an immediate family member who works for the library.  Board members should be a library user, reside within our service area, and have a sincere commitment to the purpose and mission of the library.
